Position Summary

The Sales Engineer is responsible for providing comprehensive detailed technical support for customers and sales personnel in a pre-sales environment. The role will directly interact with customers to develop solutions and build highly technical relationships with the customers in partnership with the sales team. The Sales Engineer is the key technical advocate interface between Concurrent and its customers.

Key duties:
Works directly with sales personnel and management to meet client and corporate goals.
Interfaces with customers to determine technical requirements, feasibility and expectations.
Provides sales call support by attending customer meetings and preparing technical supporting materials throughout the sales process. Presenting product information, demonstrating products, and developing solutions to meet customer requirements.
Manages and directs all phases of a product sale from inception to quote thru statement of work (SOW). Coordinates hand off to Client Service Manager and Project Engineer team.
Ensures timely customer communications and follow up. Manages customer expectations throughout the pre-sales thru post-sales process.
Analyzes customer business needs and develops technical strategies in partnership with the sales team, R&D, and Product Management that can competitively meet the customer’s needs.
Supports technical proposal efforts, defines systems configurations, RIQ requirements, and assists with PCQ requirements. Consultant to sales and marketing for preparation of RFP (Request For Proposal), and quotation preparation.
Directs activities of team to implement activities of the project. Sales owns the project plan until the P.O. arrives from the customer and the project then is passed to the Client Service Manager.
Provides high level of hands on technical support and direction for customers as well as sales personnel, and assists in building customer relationships to drive overall customer retention. Serves as a customer advocate. Strives to improve processes and products based on customer input and requirements.
Establishes and monitors master schedules, tracks activities, identifies risks and dependencies, works with internal development team and external partners through the P.O. stage.
Link customer requirements to the engineering design process.
Interfaces to Product Marketing to influence future product direction based on customer feedback.
Perform such other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree - Engineering, technical or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 5+ year’s telecommunications/data sales/technical engineering experience supporting quota bearing sales executives.
  • Strong Hands On Technical Skills - Advanced understanding of applications, VOD technology, and networking designs.
  • Extensive knowledge of IP networking including but not limited to RTSP-HFC, RTSP, HTTP, UDP, TCP/IP
  • Direct and detailed knowledge of ISA/NGOD and RTSP backoffice technologies
  • Continually maintain and improve technical skills required for the position.
  • Working knowledge of the following technical categories: Virtualization, Linux Operating Systems, Enterprise Applications, SNMP Monitoring, Network and Systems Management, Security, Networking and Storage Area Networks.
  • Works independently to drive develop of solutions to meet customer’s needs.
