We are seeking a Sales Engineer based in the New York City area for our open storage business unit.

This position is responsible for pre-sales and technical support for the media and entertainment sales team. You will be responsible for leading technical presentations and providing pre-sales support. This position is expected to work independently as required and with the media and entertainment sales team as directed. The Sales Engineer will assist the sales team to grow revenues and identify new opportunities for growth. In addition, the sales engineer will work very closely with the Solutions Architects during the requirements and design and implementation phase to ensure the solution meets the client’s needs and requirements.

Imagine Yourself:
Being available throughout the sales cycle to provide ongoing technical insight and product information as required to close deals, remaining available and in contact with account executives post contract for ongoing sales support

Leading technical sales presentations & product demonstrations, supporting product implementation & maintenance of EVault products, ensuring that clients are receiving up to date information, and ensuring products meet EVault specifications and exceed client expectations

Assisting sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs

Developing product presentations when needed/as directed designed for specific customer(s) including architecture of installation, service requirements and ongoing support needs

Maintaining ongoing technical product knowledge of all EVault products. Keeping up to date on company literature, competition and market trends via attendance/participation in-house training, travel & contact w/relevant in-house and external engineering, management, industry specialists, trade journals etc.

Assisting with product training of new sales personnel

Designing and delivering long-term storage solutions for the media and entertainment industry

What you’ll bring to the role:
Bachelors' degree in Engineering or Software Development strongly preferred

3 - 5+ years experience in a technical sales engineer capacity in the media and entertainment industry

Track record for identifying and creating solutions to address digital media business needs

A well rounded, professional sales engineer who understands the data storage and disaster recovery markets as well as the following concepts:
o Cloud Connected Storage
o Data Encryption Technology
o Online Infrastructure
o Digital Preservation

Knowledge and experience with digital media video workflows, video ingest, transcoding, asset management and distribution technologies

Understanding of software sales processes and procedures

Excellent business savvy as well as oral and written communication skills

Ability to deliver technical presentations and demonstrate how product meets client needs

Ability to travel throughout sales territory

Understanding of software sales & partner contract processes

Experience with long-term storage solutions for media and entertainment recommended

Affiliation with media and entertainment organizations such as SMPTE

Knowledge and understanding of the Open Stack platform

In depth knowledge and experience with application integration for digital media end-to-end solutions

Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills

The ability to articulate technical solutions both verbally and in written form to a variety of audiences
