As a Sales Engineer, E-Commerce you are experienced with enterprise-class E-Commerce technologies and able to effectively use consultative selling techniques to translate customer objectives into Newgistics E-Commerce solutions and services. The Sales Engineer is responsible for pre-sales technical assistance for the Sales Team and will perform technical presentations & demonstrations of our platforms. You will be responsible for using your technical creativity to build value and drive sales for our customers in the areas of E-Commerce, Fulfillment, Delivery and Returns. The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users and be able to identify all the technical and business issues to sales prospects to assure complete customer satisfaction.

  • Understand and communicate solution messaging at both a technical and business level
  • Provide industry expertise and guidance to clients
  • Author and provide presentations both to executive-level and working-level client audiences
  • Present standard and customized software demonstrations
  • Provide solution insight paralleling the solution to client needs
  • Guide prospective clients to the merits and strengths of Newgistics solutions
  • Assist account executives in development of Target Account Selling strategies
  • Remain current in industry and technology trends
  • Document all prospective client meetings and decisions in Net Suite
  • Articulate market requests and needs to Product Marketing and Implementation Teams in a clear, concise manner
  • Participate in development of proposals and RFI / RFP responses
  • Organize communications between internal teams and vendors to develop solutions
  • 30-40% Travel

  • 10+ years software industry experience with at least 5 years in a Retail E-Commerce Platform Sales Engineering Role
  • Required to have a technical understanding of E-Commerce eco-system and solutions
  • Required to have enterprise-class software experience in E-Commerce
  • Ideally has software experience in: ERP, Supply Chain, PIM, CRM, E-Procurement or other related E-Commerce applications
  • Previous experience selling into Fortune 1000 accounts
  • Proven track record in giving sales-oriented presentations to executive-level audiences
  • Strong C-level/board level communication and presentation skills
  • Successful participation in sales cycles in a pre-sales/consulting role
  • Supports relevant processes and protocols throughout the sales cycle
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects and activities concurrently
  • Strong and creative problem-solving and analytical skills
