VerticalResponse is looking for a tech savvy and charismatic API support engineer to assist our sales staff during technical calls and presentations as well as support customers who have integrated with our API. You will work with both our direct customers, partners and vendors in using our robust API’s.
This is an amazing opportunity for someone who enjoys a balance of geeking out on the tech side and working directly with customers to make sure they’re happy.

Serve as a strong technical presence within the Sales & Support team, participating in all aspects of the technical pre- and post-sales process

Collaborate closely with internal teams to maintain customer satisfaction

Work with 3rd party API management service to ensure that we are delivering best in breed services to our developer partners and direct customers

Ensure internal and external audiences are knowledgeable on the feature set of VerticalResponse API’s

Make architectural recommendations and consult on development plans for integrating strategic partners and ISVs

Create and deliver non-technical and technical presentations for prospective customers and internal audiences

Create and improve API documentation, overview materials, API sample code and developer portal

Develop and maintain client relationships via email and phone

Identify customer/API issues and communicate with product team for enhancements

Accurately maintain sales data in CRM tool

Meet API reporting needs for various internal business units


Bachelors Degree, computer science or engineering degrees preferred

1-3 years experience in a sales engineer, technical support or equivalent role

Detail-oriented, high-energy individual who is able to multi-task and follow through on projects

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience with CRM applications such as salesforce.com

Technical Requirements

Knowledge of web architecture including SOAP and REST as well technologies including JSON, HTTP, WSDL and XML
