      Position Sales Manager

      Department Sales and Marketing

      Reports to Director of Sales

      Scope of position:

      Meet established sales objectives on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis as outlined in the Marketing Plan and assigned Goal worksheet, as well as carry out necessary job functions that may be not directly related to group room nights sold. Based on the resort’s Marketing Plan goals assigned, develop and execute personal territory action plan directed at solicitation of key accounts and new account acquisition to include activities such as phone solicitation, telemarketing, eMail blasts, site inspections, face to face sales missions and trade show attendance to achieve maximum activity required.

      Minimum Requirements:

      a. College degree or equivalent experience

      b. Prior hotel sales experience (minimum 5 years)

      Responsibilities: · Prospect for new group business and research business on-line
      · Respond to inquiries and “requests for proposals”
      · Plan for and execute a predetermined number of sales trips in feeder cities
      · Attend industry events as indicated in Marketing Plan
      · Establish a strong partnership with Turnberry Isle and regional representation companies
      · Monitor operational execution of accounts with all departments
      · Research client room night histories for previous meetings and manage the room block for the time of the meeting until the meeting begins
      · Plan for and execute Executive Program presentations in feeder cities
      · Maintain in-depth account files in Delphi along with hard files
      · Assist in updating data base on a continual basis, audits conducted periodically
      · Understand sales strategies and tactics of competitor hotels
      · Negotiate all rates for group accounts within the guidelines of our budgeted average rate
      · May be called upon to assist other departments within the Resort
      · Interview, hire, train, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate
      · Responsible for receiving, processing and investigating complaints made per the existing harassment policy.
