Sales Manager

Position Summary:

Broadwind Energy is seeking an experienced Sales Manager for our Broadwind Services business with a strong focus on wind energy. This position is responsible for marketing and selling the organization’s products and services on a national level; this includes specialty maintenance, both scheduled and unscheduled, with emphasis on drivetrain and blade services. Partners with the sales team to create sales plans and participates in strategic and tactical planning. Interacts with executives and/or major customers.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

· Managing the complete sales opportunity lifecycle, from lead generation/engagement, to relationship management, proposal development, negotiation and closing

· Partnering with sales team to determine market strategies for business unit

· Research and develop lists of potential customers

· Gather market research to determine customer needs and provide information to other staff

· Follow up on sales leads and potential customers

· Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets

· Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales

· Work with operations staff to establish a communication path with the customer

· Develop sales and marketing proposals/presentations for customer s

· Establish long-term, ongoing repeat relationships

· Meet established sales quotas and revenue goals

· Resolve problems with products and services

· Develop and regularly update promotional materials to target identified customers

· Performs other related duties as assigned

To be successful in this position, you will need:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field and documented track record of field sales success

· At least 3-4 years of solid industry experience with wind turbine OEM or farm owners

· Strong network of existing industry contacts from which to develop new business

· Well-developed sales skills and a proven track record with demonstrable results

· Technical knowledge of technical services and/or precision repair and engineering service for wind turbines

· Commercial experience with an emphasis on data and cost/benefit analysis

· Strong experience responding to RFPs, negotiating terms and conditions, and developing sales strategy plans/reports

· Hunter mentality with high level of motivation, autonomy, and self-discipline

· New product or service launch experience

· Ability to demonstrate professionalism, maintain composure, and perform well under pressure

· Solid interpersonal, networking, and public relation skills with emphasis on verbal communication and interfacing with a diverse array of people

· Strong team-player, both within sales team and across other functional groups (operations, engineering)

· Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and Salesforce

· Strong decision making and problem solving skills, including the ability to evaluate and assess complex situations using independent and sound judgment

· Strong mathematical and analytical skills with emphasis on researching, interpreting, and translating a variety of data

· Marketing & market planning knowledge

· Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
