The Ideal Candidate for this Position
The ideal candidate for this position would have a College degree or equivalent experience/training, knowledge of how to operate a computer, the ability to effectively communicate in the English language and experience in sales within the hospitality industry.
Scope of this Position
In preparing for this position, candidate ideally will have worked in at least the following departments or positions: Sales
Must have experience at properties of similar size and quality.
Position will be required to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and week-ends.
Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
Actively participate in industry related organizations.
Strong background in selling rooms, F&B, Catering, Meeting Rooms, and A/V.
Thorough knowledge of sales techniques.
Enjoy asking for business and closing sales.
Aggressively pursue new accounts on a weekly basis.
Consistently book repeat business.
Maintain consistent verbal and written communication with clients.
Conduct familiarization trips.
Make onsite and field presentations to prospective clients.
Work effectively with Rooms, Recreation, Catering, Conference/Convention Services, and Banquet Departments.
Develop budgets and projections for assigned market segment(s).
Participate in local community to develop business.
Attend trade shows and participate in sales blitzes.
Excellent phone sales skills.
Consistently meet or exceed sales goals.
Enjoy a team sales approach.
Experience in Corporate and Group sales.
Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to sell concepts and ideas to management, peers, and employees.
Experience making presentations in front of groups.
