  • Associates Degree preferred * 2 - 5 years experience in hospitality sales with proven track record of booking business * Strong background in selling rooms, F&B, catering, meeting rooms and A/V, and thorough knowledge of sales techniques * Ability to maintain consistent verbal and written communication with clients. * Strong background in Hotel-segment sales * Marketing related to business development preferred * Must be able to work effectively with Rooms, Recreation and Catering services. * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Powerpoint, GroupWise, Hoovers, and working knowledge of Delphi or Breeze preferred. * Ability to work independently, goal oriented, experience in win-win negotiation. * Ability to conduct extensive research that will directly support sales territories. * Valid State Driver's License * Able to travel 50' of the time, As well travel for extended periods of time. * Able to stand for periods of time, and lift 30lbs.
Responsible for business development of group sales for Four (4) lodging facilities at DNC Parks and Resorts at Yosemite, Inc , Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite and other properties as directed by management. Tenaya Lodge is a four- diamond, 297-room world-class resort, located 2 miles from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park. Inside Yosemite, the successful candidate will sell and represent iconic and historic hotels to include: The Ahwahnee Hotel, Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, Wawona Hotel and Curry Village. Yosemite is located approximately 2 hours from Fresno, CA. Yosemite National Park is a major tourist destination with 4 million annual visitors. In addition to the many lodging facilities, there are 17 retail stores, 3 fine dining facilities, multiple fast food facilities and numerous recreational activities. Responsibilities: * Develop and manage quarterly & annual marketing & business action plan that directly supports their specific vertical markets, executed by the sales manager to exceed annual business goals for all responsible business units. * Develop leads through extensive research, using tools such as web, internet, Hoovers and other reporting tools, marketing plans as directed and developed by the sales manager, attending industry events and organizing In-Market activities and events, promotions and direct sales efforts including company provided prospect tools for new business development. * Ongoing development and ability to maintain relationships with new and existing clients * Perform sales calls and office site visits & attend industry specific events, organizing in-market events, participate in trade shows and events where his/her customers participate congregate. * Conduct extensive research that leverages specific segments of business that are doing well, and focuses attention on thriving segments, and regular review of markets, news etc. of client bases to stay current with market conditions effecting buying decisions. * Aggressively pursue new business development, leveraging research tools and consumer data through DNC CRM tools, or outside vendors. * Actively participate in industry related organizations aligned with the manager's vertical business development markets. * Participate in local business community to develop group business and contact network. * Develop dynamic and custom proposals and presentations to contract new and repeat client business. * Make on-line or onsite field presentations to prospective clients. * Actively participate in key sales, marketing and hotel operations meetings.
