Job Description and Profile: Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to enforce company policies and procedures, company philosophies while meeting company expectations. Leaders in this classification supervise sales and customer service work. This position is responsible for greeting patients, assisting patients with purchase of eyewear, negotiating prices of eyewear, and managing Support Center reporting, establishing and monitoring store budgets, conducting sales and marketing analysis, and supervising store personnel. A typical day for the Retail Sales Manager would be to monitor each individual retail transactions while also being part of the sales process. This position requires continuous communication between the retail sales manager and sales staff utilizing the Stanton Optical Transaction Process. The Sales Manager reviews walkouts and missed opportunities with the retail sales staff. The Sales Manager will be required to meet the productivity numbers outlined while maintaining a customer service score of 87 or greater. EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position. Assists patients with choice of frames, negotiates price of eyewear, dispenses eyewear, accepts payment, etc. Assists General Manager with preparation of sales trends, average sales, net profits, payroll percentages, commissions, and payroll, schedules, end of day closeout; other support center reporting as necessary. Supervises doctors office and store personnel; assign duties, establishes performance standards and work schedules, trains, motivates, mentors, counsels, measures performance, enforces company policies and procedures; recommends hiring and terminations. Monitors advertising strategies and effects of advertising; assists General Manager with modification of marketing strategies. Monitors store budget; reports discrepancies and/or concerns to General Manager. Monitors quality control standards; identifies recurring errors and develops solutions to eliminate errors. Resolves patient/customer complaints; approves refunds if all other alternatives have been exhausted; forwards requests to support center office as per company policy. Conducts inventory counts and replenishes stock as necessary; ensures a wide variety of sizes, types, quality, colors, etc., are maintained at all times. Reports unexplained shortages to General Manager and/or Loss Prevention. Complies with all company and local policies and procedures to include but not limited to, employment policies and procedures including The Sales Process. Enforces OSHA and safety requirements. Designated as Facilities Leader; responsible for the repair and maintenance which includes the interior and exterior of the building. Ensures all equipment, machinery, furniture, tools, appliances, and building is in proper working condition, clean, and safe for patients and leaders. Ensures store is clean and organized; assigns housekeeping duties as necessary. Ability to interact successfully with both internal and external customers at all levels. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be flexible with changing business needs in a team environment. Requirements 3+ years of sales and marketing experience 1+ year of supervisory or leadership responsibilities Education and Skills: 6+ months Customer Service and/or sales work in a retail environment BA degree strongly preferred Proficiency in using a Lensometer strongly preferred ADA COMPLIANCE Physical Ability: Tasks involve the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, crouching, and crawling. Also this may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds). Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors and may require visual perception and discrimination of perception and discriminate sounds, and oral communications abilities. Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed with minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt and dust.
