Job Summary: The Sales Manager is responsible for generating group business from assigned markets, maximization of sales revenue, and development of potential accounts and sound administration of Delphi documentation. Audience: Corporate and Incentive Group Business, potential SMERF and Transient markets as assigned. Job Requirements: 1) Promotes new and repeat business, property awareness, and partnerships in group business opportunities on behalf of The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center. This individual is self motivated, solicitation of accounts through direct sales calls, direct mail, telephone, email and site inspections. 2) Makes sales trips to assigned territory on a regular basis. 3) Books groups from assigned areas and manages accounts in Delphi. 4) Dedicates a great deal of time to telephone and email solicitation sales. 5) Participates in trade shows promoting greater awareness of the The Woodlands Resort and generating group business. 6) Responds to all correspondence from assigned areas and trace dates for reworking and follow-up, documents activity in Delphi. 7) Conducts successful site inspections and familiarization tours. 8) Attends meetings and industry functions through membership in associations appropriate for territory. 9) Performs general office duties and assists other personnel, as required. 10) Maintains a working relationship with departments interacting with groups booked from territory. 11) Stays abreast of industry trends and makes recommendations of changes, which would affect operations. 12) Strong communication skills required for this position. 13) Both verbal communication and written reports and updates will be required on a regular basis. 14) Projects a positive and professional image when representing The Woodlands Resort at work and at appropriate industry functions. 15) Consistently achieve established sales goals. 16) Monitor sales activity, booking revenue and successful in achieving goals. 17) Grow market share and build shoulder season business. 18) Assist in development of budgets, projections, and implementation plans. 19) Promotes ultimate customer service and problem prevention/solving. 20) Assume other job related tasks as assigned by supervisor. 21) Resolving conflicts and negotiating with others. 22) Monitor competition and marketing trends. 23) Comfortable speaking to groups and giving presentations. Experience and Physical Requirements:
• 3+ years successful sales experience in a full service hotel/conference center
• Lift up to 20 pounds
• Perform bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping Education:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• College degree preferred
• Delphi, Word, Excel knowledge a plus Compensation: BOE
