The sales manager will be responsible for leading the mortgage loan officer team to achieve production goals and growth through strategic initiatives. The sales manager will assist in the recruitment and training of talent, as well as, be proactive in retaining current employees and managing performance. The sales manager will actively participate in local realtor, banker and trade associations, and maintain a thorough understanding of mortgage industry knowledge and current issues and opportunities. The sales manager will report daily production activity to the executive team, be expected to assist with reporting, compensation and management of the sales team. The sales manager will need strong sales and organizational skills, excellent communication skills and report directly to the VP of Residential Lending. .
. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist in the recruitment, coaching, and training of mortgage Loan Officers. Assists in the leadership of the sales team to execute goals providing leadership, marketing and strategic direction. Provides feedback on competition in the market place and offer insight to possible new products, pricing and program improvements to the department VP. Initiates and coordinates development of action plans with the Loan Officers to perform in current markets and focus on opportunities for expansion into new markets
- Develop and maintain relationships within the Long Island community, specifically with the real estate community. Exceed sales goals by finding potential clients, individuals or businesses, in need of loans; communicating mortgage programs and guidelines to potential clients to originate loans .
· Organize educational seminars for members, realtors and industry professionals. Establish greater mortgage lending presence through trade shows, exhibits and local networking opportunities .
· Attend networking events on behalf of Bethpage Federal Credit Union in coordination with business development within the corporate and charitable community that include breakfasts, lunches, dinners, galas and special events to build networking and prospecting opportunities. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in other professional organizations.
A minimum of 5-year experience in mortgage related field; preferably sales management experience. Excellent knowledge of mortgage and home equity products and GSE underwriting guidelines. Strong sales, member service and leadership skills essential.
Two year college degree required. Various residential mortgage underwriting/credit and sales training.
