Overview:

The Sales Operations Manager (SOM) responsibility is to complete the sales cycle begun by the AE/MM and SE team. He or she will coordinate with the field sales team to ensure quotes are prepared and delivered to the customers on time. In addition, the SOM will be responsible to lead the internal team (back-office) to ensure complete corporate readiness and timely acceptance of customer purchase orders against presented quotes.

The SOM position is responsible for the timely turnover of won deals to the Implementation Project Management team for business implementation and execution. He or she will act as a liaison between sales, prospects, customers, and Internap to ensure a positive, responsive client experience.

Sales Operations Managers are expected to perform with a high level of autonomy, integrity and accountability. A high level of quality, reliability and efficiency will be required to manage multiple quotes and opportunities while providing world class service to Internap’s customers and leading the back office team.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage quote process in coordination with the sales team (AE/SE):
    • Evaluate assigned opportunities and pursue all up-sell, renewal and cross-selling opportunities
    • Identify potential problems within quotes and resolve prior to proposal / quote presentation to customer
    • Understand business case on all critical opportunities and assist in management review / approval process
    • Coordinate proposal release to AE and presentation to customers
  • Coordination with Back-Office:
    • Act as dedicated advocate for field AEs, channel partners, sales professionals , customers and/or prospects
    • Support all aspects of the implementation to include Adds , Moves, and Changes
    • Act as liaison between sales and internal departments to obtain necessary order approvals (i.e. pricing, product catalog assignments, etc.) as directed by the market manager
    • As needed , the SOM will be available as a point of contact to handle communications between the sales and Internap departments as pertains to customer/prospect engagements (Deal Desk, Technical Support, Finance , Product Management , Sales, Operations, etc.)
    • Submit signed order to Deal Desk following established order processing guidelines
    • Communicate with internal owner immediately upon submitting the order for processing to conduct handoff for tracking and customer communications
    • Work with Provisioning, Operations , Engineering, and the Client to ensure smooth implementation and communication throughout the quote proces
  • Respond promptly to customer requests
    • Route for action customer requests to the correct and responsible internal functions
  • Interface with PM Team as necessary:
    • Conduct appropriate handoff after order is submitted for processing
  • Other Duties:
    • Assist Market Manager with revenue/customer reporting as needed
    • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Proven strong project management experience preferably related to the implementation of IT services involving Colocation, IP or Managed Hosting
  • Strong project management including demonstrated experience with customer/supplier management, managing progress against process KPI’s, identifying roadblocks, problem resolution, and strong customer relations skills
  • Proven ability to take projects from a high-level definition through to completion
  • Working knowledge of the back-office processes needed to convert a customer purchase order into an internal work-order
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills within a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills, including strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Attention to detail and impeccable follow through
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Self directed, autonomous and entrepreneurial
  • Ability to travel up to 15% and work flexible hours
