OVERALL OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE
Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with lottery personnel and lottery retailers in a designated territory and maximizing sales through merchandising, training and promotional techniques. This is a sales position that requires retail sales experience and broad knowledge of the company’s policies and products.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruits new lottery retailers and grows sales at existing lottery retailers by selling new products/promotions.
Makes regular visits to retailers to ensure a consistent and professional presence at every lottery retailer.
Manages instant ticket inventory to maximize sales in specific retail locations.
Makes recommendations or takes action that will result in optimizing lottery product sales.
Tracks and maintains adequate inventory levels of the instant ticket product at assigned retailer. Picks up old inventory and transfer packs as necessary.
Removes closing games as directed by the lottery within required time frame.
Delivers, installs and maintains all lottery point-of sale materials.
Operates, and trains retailers to operate, all lottery equipment.
Provides training to retailers on changes and/or enhancements to lottery games and promotions.
Performs retailer terminations, change of ownerships and other related duties as assigned.
Demonstrates the advantages of proper placement of lottery products and point of sales materials and equipment.
Develops, implements and evaluates sales promotions with individual retail outlets. Motivates retailers to participate in and support promotions.
Assists district by participating in Selling Events and Customer Appreciation promotions.
Formulates a quarterly business plan for assigned territory.

Poor customer service to retailers could result in the loss of a customer and revenue.
Must closely adhere to lottery policies to ensure that the company is not fined for non-compliance.

Frequent – Must be able to influence and communicate effectively with lottery personnel and lottery retailers
Must comply with lottery and company’s policies and procedures
Physical (% time: travel, operating machinery, environmental etc.)
Travel with in assigned territory almost 100% of time worked.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Must have a driver’s license, be able to perform routine vehicle maintenance and understand vehicle reporting requirements.
Must be able to stay overnight for state sales meetings.
Bachelor’s Degree in business or sales/marketing or related field
3 – 5 years of related sales experience

Must be able to speak clearly and persuasively with strong interpersonal skills.
Expresses self well in group or in one-to-one conversations.
Must be able to produce written materials that are clear, concise and easily understood.
Effective time management and organizational skills
General understanding of lottery transactions and how the lottery operates
