Job Description
  • Responsible for the selling and promotion of CAF product offerings including tours, field trips and youth travel, retail products, and education books
    • Collaborate with Group Sales Manager to contact conventions
  • Responsible for prospecting new clients for CAF tour offerings, retail product, and education book
    • s Make on-site sales calls and set up face-to-face meetings for Group Sales Manager as appropriate
  • Subject matter expert on CAF offerings to ensure all customer questions can be answered
  • Respond to all customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Administer accurate and timely transactions for customers
  • Keep current on new products, product features, pricing, inventory levels, and tour offerings
  • Develop reporting system that tracks progress of sales goals and utilizes the information to make needed adjustments to current sales strategy plan
  • Develop solid working relationships with clients and create a follow-up system that encourages repeat sales and referrals
  • Responsible for after-the-sale thank you communications
    • Collaborate with the Group Sales Manager to determine/distribute holiday gifts and/or cards for top sales clients
  • Responsible for all annual and monthly brochure distribution to hotels, visitor centers, etc as assigned
  • Develop and maintain a prospect development system and ensure accurate and timely database entries
  • Integral part of CAF Database Users Group
  • Works closely with the Vice President of Tours & Retail, the Senior Manager of Merchandise and Group Sales Manager to develop an effective sales strategy and develop sales goals for each area of product offerings
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Education and Experience
  • Associates Degree plus 2 years of sales experience or 4+ years of sales experience
  • Prompt, courteous, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and consistent customer attitude
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are required; professional writing skills, presents ideas effectively in both verbal and written communication, and presents numerical data effectively
  • Represents CAF in a professional manner and strives to meet high service standard expectations
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, and set realistic action plans and goals
  • Meets productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner
  • Effectively manages competing demands, adapts to change in work environment, reacts well under pressure, and changes approach/method to best fit the situation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good working relationships with the CAF customers and CAF employees
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of team, balances team priorities, gives and welcomes constructive feedback, contributes to building positive team spirit and culture
  • Detail oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task, good decision-making skills, exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes others in decision-making process as appropriate
