The Network Management Solutions group provides real-time information solutions for the efficient, reliable and secure operation of transmission and distribution infrastructures and markets. ALSTOM Grid – Network Management Solutions, the leader in providing software and services to the Electric Utility Industry has an opening for a Sales Solution Engineer - DMS in its Redmond, WA location. In this position you will be working with the DMS tendering activity team to develop responses to requests for proposals/bids. You will work with many groups to develop the best technical solution for a potential client/project, including cost estimates, resources, and timelines, with the goal of winning new business for Alstom Grid.

This position is responsible for:
Providing on time the best technical solution on this basis and corresponding cost estimates to bid manager, with the aim of winning the tender (trade-off between cost optimization and managing the risk level during project execution).

Providing the description of the technical solution in a professional manner, with a commercial wording/presentation to secure the order,

Providing answers to technical questions raised by the customer during a tender phase.

Defending the technical solution internally (management, other departments) and externally (client, prospect, consultant)

Understanding customer's complex technical problems and determining solutions.

Conducting live demonstrations and educating prospect.

Providing product expertise by answering portions of Request for Proposals/Request for Information (RFP/RFI) for the sales/tendering team.

Maintaining an advanced understanding of complex products.

Taking full responsibility on small to medium size quotes.

Provide support to Sales & Tendering teams to promote our DMS offering worldwide.

Capturing Return of Experience from projects execution on DMS worldwide.

Requires Travel of 10-20% of the time.

May be required to work extended hours, carry a pager/cell phone and be on call.

Qualifications

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this

opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

General Qualifications:
Requires Master’s in Engineering degree or equivalent work experience.

Requires minimum five (5) years in project management or engineering.

Proven understanding of highly complex hardware and software configurations in a real-time environment.

Understanding of client’s relationships and priorities

Good PC skills required, including use of standard MS Office applications.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to write professional and technical reports and procedures.

Ability to make informal presentations to technical and non-technical staff and customers

Previous experience in Tendering.

Ability to prioritize work assignments and shift work efforts based on the needs of the department or business goals.

Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
