The Westin Seattle is looking for a Sales Specialist who will plan, solicit, contract, and coordinate group meetings between 10-50 rooms peak night. This role will enable the hotel to meet and/or exceed revenue goals in Guestrooms and food and beverage. In addition, the Sales Specialist will:
  • Prospect for new business accounts as well as work with an existing account base
  • Obtain specific details from the client as it relates to agenda, meeting space requirements, times, equipment, menus, billing, guestroom needs and contract negotiation.
  • Resolve any issues to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in daily business review meetings, pre-convention meetings, training, etc.
  • Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to guests, maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and local clientele.

  • Must speak, read, write and understand the primary languages in the workplace.
  • Effectively communicate guest needs.
  • Perform in a team environment with the employee acting as team leader.
  • Knowledge of all the departments in the hotel.
  • Ability to establish and master goals.
  • Ability to identify and develop accounts.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests and employees.
  • Must possess computer skills including Microsoft Office and Delphi.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous hotel sales experience preferred.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance per Starwood standards.
