We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Trainee in Pearland, TX. This person will:

Develop sales skills and processes to enhance current and potential customer relationships while utilizing internal resources to offer exceptional value to our customers.
Learn, train, and prepare their technical sales skills and knowledge.
Have a strong desire to learn and have a career in technical sales.

Key Responsibilities

Build strong customer relationships through high levels of service, follow-up and understanding of the customers’ needs
Handle call-in sales calls and house account rentals while confirming job-by-job pricing
Pass advance rental to Area Fleet Coordinator and keep salesperson informed of all customer transactions
Compile lists of prospective customers from various sources for use as sales leads
Call on regular and prospective customers by phone or by traveling throughout assigned territory to understand and develop opportunities and close sales
Quote prices, contract terms, estimated delivery date and credit terms
Prepare sales contracts for orders obtained
Visit customers to conduct performance audits and identify where to add value to the service provided
Initiate monthly marketing campaigns, including but not limited to, telemarketing and mail-outs
Follow up on all marketing response leads to qualify needs as well as pending inquiries on a regular basis
Send PROMISE surveys and follow-ups with customers to confirm satisfaction
Maintain accurate customer database
Call and research target markets for future development
Prepare competition studies


Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing
PC literacy in a Microsoft environment
Proficiency with MS Office and customer relations management software
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Willingness and ability to work as a team member and individual
Ability to partner with colleagues in a matrix organization structure to accomplish company-wide objectives
Strong organizational, listening, and strategic thinking skills
Highly self-motivated
Experience in the equipment rental industry or selling to similar markets is a bonus
