Position Summary

As a member of the NAC Learning and Development team, the Sales Training and Development Specialist (TS) is responsible for the design, development, delivery and implementation of all NAC training programs to new and existing associates and managers that spans across various business units. This position requires proven experience with adult learning theory and formal instructional design methodologies, inclusive of Kirkpatrick's evaluation model. The selected candidate must demonstrate exceptional instructional design skills and the ability to write for different mediums (e.g. web based training, facilitated workshops, blogs, etc). Additionally, excellent facilitation and coaching skills, along with the ability to maintain a cooperative learning environment and effectively manage group dynamics are also essential. Facilitating NAC new hire training is a critical aspect of this position.

Reporting to the Manager of Sales Training, this role is considered part of the .com Sales Management team and accordingly the TS will engage with sales managers on issues including associate performance.

As such a strict level of confidentiality is expected.

Primary Responsibilities:
Sales Training Program Design & Development

Design and develop a variety of sales and technical training programs including but not limited to: new hire training, sales workshops, sales systems training, and product training

Partner with our sales operations teams to assess and revise NAC Sales training materials to ensure business needs are met

Perform detailed needs analysis and create post training assessments focusing on knowledge retained and skills application

Create a variety of training related materials including: task matrices, task analyses, participant guides, e-learning material, multimedia presentations, leaders’ guides, quick reference cards, and evaluations

Create online training using Adobe Captivate and other learning software

Participate in peer evaluation and mentoring to ensure consistency and that best practices are being adhered to

Proactively anticipate potential obstacles and meet timeframes for multiple deliverables

Sales Training Program Delivery

Deliver new hire training as needed to support NAC Sales individual sales campaigns

Work in partnership with the team managers to ensure associate compliance with Staples’ and .com Sales' policies and procedures

Facilitate additional sales training to support ongoing initiatives. This may include virtual facilitation to work at home associates

Personal Contributions

Participate in his/her personal development by executing on action items agreed upon with his/her Manager throughout the year

Exhibit positive work habits as related to schedule adherence, daily production with strict deadlines and interaction with his/her team

Attend and participate in required team meetings

Execute on business needs as required, being mindful to consistently support Staples and .com Sales initiatives

Understand how his/her contributions affect the Learning and Development team and the broader .com Sales organization

Promotes the Easy Experience

Demonstrate the Easy experience in all aspects of their role

Reflective of the ease of the Staples experience when dealing with customers or other associates

Display a work ethic that makes it easy for teams overall

Make recommendations, as appropriate, to further promote the Easy experience within the .com Sales environment

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required

3-5 years of Training Development and Delivery experience with strong platform, Adult Learning Principles, and coaching skills

Demonstrate strong facilitation skills using formal adult learning principles and Learning and Development's end to end process

Facilitation focus should be on experiential learning

Strong Instructional design skills, facilitation, communication, presentation and writing skills to include virtual programs

Demonstrate determination and commitment to produce quality work in given timeframes, with appropriate attention to detail

Proven ability to work with minimal direct supervision and interact with peers and managers in remote locations

Ability to interact and form strong relationships with Telesales Management Team and Internal Business Partners
