As a Veterinary Diagnostic Specialist, you’ll build relationships with veterinary customers in conjunction with the IDEXX Veterinary Diagnostic Specialist assigned to those customers. In assuming this role, you’ll acquire and engage customers through knowledgeable interactions, business discussions and educational interactions. You’ll leverage your sales and closing skills to acquire new business in Strategic Accounts, Buying Groups and Large Integrated Deals in and build customer loyalty by enabling customers to effectively leverage IDEXX’s products and services. In helping veterinary practices grow their diagnostic revenue, you’ll establish yourself as a valued partner.

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include:

Sell instrumentation and acquire new lab business to achieve sales goals.
·
Manage time, territory and distributor relations.
·
Maintain sales forecast and territory plan (including with distributor management and representatives) within the geographical territory.
·
Grow, develop and manage customer relationships with assigned large, key accounts.
·
Initiate and coordinate lead generation Veterinary Diagnostic consultant and other IDEXX Sales Consultants, and Distribution partners.
·
Complete sales administration responsibilities, including developing and maintaining account profiles, utilization of sales information system; timely sales information reporting; timely and accurate paperwork completion.
·
Partner with Veterinary Diagnostic Consultants providing technical expertise to Consultants and customers as required.
·
Participate in team activities and discussions as needed with Regional Manager and team, IDEXX marketing, and distribution management and representatives.
·
Achieve and continually build technical knowledge of products and services, technologies, operation and processes.
·
Attend trade shows and other educational commitments;
·
Represents IDEXX values to customers through professional presentation, understanding of the veterinary business and of customer needs, and excellent communication and follow through.
·

Perform other duties as assigned.

Valid driver’s license
·
Knowledge of the veterinary industry and/or veterinary diagnostics preferred
Qualifications
Education:
·


Bachelors degree in a scientific or related discipline or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
·
Scientific or advanced studies, or the equivalent of related experience
Experience:
·


Manufacturer sales experience preferred
·
Experience in a veterinary clinic setting a plus
·
We are hiring three levels of VDS:
o Level I – three to five years of experience
o Level II – five to eight years of experience
o Level III – more than eight years of experience
Physical demands of this job include:

Overnight travel

Some weekend work
·
Extensive car travel
·
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
