Corning Incorporated in Corning, NY, seeks Samples Management & Testing Leader responsible for managing pressure drop testing of ceramic monoliths, sample preparation/management, sample logistics and post-test analysis of ceramic monoliths; theoretical analysis of ceramic monolith testing data and proposing technical solutions to improve consistency and quality; managing reclamation process for platinum group metals from ceramic monoliths including material collection, storage, disposition, packaging, customer interface, shipment and financial tracking; interfacing with international lab for product testing consistency, best practice identification and trend analysis; leading Six Sigma initiatives across entire operations organization; supervising multiple departments; and interfacing with customer groups to establish and execute benchmarking and field event testing strategies. Less than 5% travel (once a year to Europe; 1-2 times/year domestic).
Requires Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science and/or Engineering + industry experience as a materials scientist and/or materials engineer performing ceramic testing and product application development. Experience must include: washcoating ceramic filter and substrate products using colloidal systems and developing testing protocols, coordinating execution of testing protocols, analyzing data and making recommendations based on same.
