The Market President is directly responsible for leading and implementing the strategic vision for the Business Banking group in San Antonio while steering multiple business units including Middle Market, Wealth Management, Commercial Real Estate, Treasury Management and Retail Bank to ensure overall market growth and a consistent superior return.
Successful incumbents will possess outstanding leadership skills needed to build effective teams, develop direct reports and lead the overall market to success. They will be able to manage the group’s vision and purpose, execute strategic plans, make effective decisions and drive results and significant growth in a new market.
Comerica Bank uses IBM Lotus Notes for database, calendaring and e-mail functions.
The Market President position is located in San Antonio and reports to the EVP, Business Banking – Texas Market with a secondary line to the President, Comerica Bank – Texas Market. This position has six direct reports and three indirect reports.
1. Business Banking Management:
a. Manage the Business Banking group in San Antonio and be responsible for the strategic development of loan and deposit growth, profitability, credit quality and exceptional customer service.
b. Recruit, develop, and retain high caliber employees.
2. Business Development:
a. Achieve market growth by targeted prospect calling and championing the sales model, process, recognition and rewards consistently meeting or exceeding plan.
b. Implement the businesses mission, vision and financial plan for the San Antonio Market.
c. Lead and direct growth by developing and maintaining client relationship standards to ensure success of the business strategy through retention and acquisition of clients.
d. Demonstrate leadership by leading and participating in team meetings, sales meetings, community events, and non-profits boards and participate in Comerica’s corporate initiatives.
a. Participate in the planning and forecasting the financial plan for the San Antonio Business Banking group in coordination with our financial partners and monitor the business initiatives for the entire region.
b. Direct the business activity within the market towards achieving profitability for all strategic lines of business
c. Oversee expansion activity in the San Antonio Market including investment, resource allocation, human resources and marketing.
d. Human Resource Management – participates in Talent Management Program in order to retain high performing employees whose competencies are aligned with Comerica’s vision and strategy. Recruits through the Talent Management Program as well as identifies external candidates as needed.
4. Other Business Unit Activity:
a. Work with direct and non-direct reports (national lines of business) to ensure growth, service quality and profitability of the San Antonio Market. The national lines of business include Middle Market, Wealth Management, Commercial Real Estate, Treasury Management and Retail Bank (8 banking centers).
b. Ensure all business units in the San Antonio Market work toward referral goals and provide seamless delivery of Comerica products and services.

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- 15 years lending experience with an emphasis on commercial lending and business development
- 10 years management experience
- Completion of a Commercial Credit Training Program
