DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE:
Position is responsible for the training, scheduling and development of employees for PCE third shift sanitation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for full and complete training of all Sanitation employees for safety and job performance.
Responsible for scheduling sanitation employee’s hours, vacations, time off, etc to meet sanitation department requirements and maximize resource utilization.
Responsible for hiring, training and organizing the sanitation crew to enable them to achieve the required cleaning of the PCE area in an efficient and effective manner.
Responsible for assuring required records are completed in a timely manner.
Resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems impacted by the sanitation team to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Monitors employee GMP compliance to maintain company and USDA requirements.
Inspects plant, equipment and parts for cleanliness and proper sanitation
Accompany USDA inspector during preoperational inspections.
Track trends to identify areas of improvement and actions needed to improve these areas.
Communicate issues or potential issues to management.
Plant team involvement.
Participate in 3rd party and regulatory audits.
Inventory and order sanitation supplies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum of 2- 3 years supervisory experience in production and sanitation, preferably in the food industry. Demonstrated strong leadership, organizational and mechanical skills are essential.
Knowledge of chemicals, chemical usage and CIP required.
Understanding of and the ability to write sanitation standard operational procedures.
Knowledge of USDA and FDA guidelines and regulations.
Ability to prioritize and follow directions with little/no supervision.
Must have the ability to do multi-functional tasks and perform them simultaneously.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others.
Working computer knowledge specifically in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) required.
College degree preferred.
