The scheduling coordinator coordinates and oversees the daily operations, workflow and quality control of a major organizational function. Responsible for overseeing the daily operations in central scheduling including customer service, staff training, managing the hour to hour workflow using metrics and call center software, resolves Flowcast registration exceptions, and works pre-authorization worklists. This position is a liason to physician offices for problem solving and marketing. Adjust staff assignments based on incoming calls and faxed orders using call center metrics. Participates as part of the Radiology management team managing resources to budget. Provides a high level of expertise to mentor staff and problem solving. Acts as liaison between staff, physicians and management; promotes teamwork at all times.

Using independent judgment performs a wide-range of supervisory tasks. Responsible for quality assurance and customer satisfaction.


  • 3 to 5 years of leadership experience with demonstrated ability to manage workflow, coach and counsel a diverse staff.
  • Experience as a radiology technologist or appointment scheduler in healthcare or a call center preferred.
  • Call Center experience preferred.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology required.
  • Demonstrated good communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to interact positively with all levels of healthcare workers and guests required.
  • Demonstrated good organizational skills with the ability to handle several tasks/projects simultaneously required.
  • Demonstrated good judgment and problem solving skills with the ability to function independently and make decisions required.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, teamwork and the ability to build consensus required.
