Provide for the safety and security of students, faculty, staff, and volunteers during after-school activities; check in and check out children and adults participating in after-school childcare and/or activities;

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED

Experience: none required

Special Skills:
1. Must have the ability to perform the task assigned

2. Must have the ability to communicate well with adults and children

3. Must have computer skills and/or the ability to learn a computer program

4. Must have the ability to record information and data on a computer

5. Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions

6. Must possess hearing and visual acuity

7. Must have the ability to maintain own emotions in stressful situations and to de-escalate confrontations

8. Must be able to frequently stand and walk

9. Must have the ability to participate in trainings as needed

10. Must have the ability to read, understand, and write in English

Evaluation: Ongoing and annually

Responsibilities:
1. Monitor the school doors during after-school hours

2. Control the access of non-staff adults to the school by monitoring a sign-in, requesting ID's, accessing records, entering data, and denying access to individuals when appropriate

3. Maintain professional relationships with staff, students, parents, and school visitors

4. Work cooperatively with the principal and 21 st Century staff (after-school program)

5. Report conflicts, suspicious incidents, and significant events to the principal, when appropriate, and/or to police/fire department, as necessary

6. Give directions to visitors as needed, making sure school and district policies are applied

7. Handle all information with proper confidentiality

8. Adhere to and apply all OBE policies and procedures, including procedures pertaining to sexual harassment, blood borne pathogens, safe and drug-free schools, and student code of conduct

Pay/Wage: $11.00 - $13.00 hour, depending upon qualifications and experience, benefit package offered

Hours: Approximately 181 days per year

3:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Reports to: Principal; Business Manager
