This position is located in Durham County, NC and requires travel in and around Durham County up to 50% of the time.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and skills in the areas of leadership, organizational development, and research-based transformation practices designed to increase student achievement. Competence in the areas of curriculum and instructional methodology is essential, especially in relation to the NC Standard Course of Study, including Common Core and Essential Standards, as well as 21st century technology. Strong oral and communication skills are critical, as is the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations. In addition, the ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving, team-building, interpersonal, and self-assessment/self-awareness skills.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum requirements include a doctoral degree in the special field to which assigned and two years of progressively responsible experience in public education; or a master's degree in the special field to which assigned and four years progressively responsible experience in public education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
An ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a closely related field, licensure in one of the designated areas, and a minimum of ten years of teaching and/or school administrator experience. Preference will be given to candidates with successful experience teaching, training, and/or coaching adult learners, including experience as a mentor, curriculum facilitator, or another leadership position in a local education agency.
