Are you seeking a new opportunity to work for one of the world’s most admired companies? We have an exciting opportunity for a Scientist to work in our Innovation Center located in San Jose. In this job you will conduct scientific research used to develop future Canon Products.

Apply diversified knowledge of scientific research principles and practices within the computational imaging area.
Make independent decisions regarding research strategies and methods in relation to theories, precepts, and practices in the field.
Assist with identifying business product needs and leads the research in the discovery and application of results.
Interpret and evaluate complex test data and results of investigations and develop appropriate recommendations to meet product development needs.
Apply extensive technical knowledge, research, and analysis to develop creative and innovative solutions, procedures, and policies.
Develop suggestions about new product features/ideas.
Assist with establishing strategic direction for a long-term research area.
Contribute to professional journals and could be a presenter at professional conferences.
Contribute as a major individual patent producer.

PhD or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Min. 2 years of related experience in Industrial R&D and Academia.
Must possess and be able to apply knowledge of scientific research principles and practices to complete research assignments for a theme area.
Published researcher in the area(s) of computer vision, machine learning and/or computational imaging.
Expertise in multispectral imaging required.
Experience in simulation of imaging systems preferred.
Experience in intellectual property development helpful.
