This position is located in the Joint Special Operations Response Department, Electro-Optic Technology Division, Electro-Optic Systems Integration Branch.
THIS IS AN EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY ANNOUCMENT. This position will serve as the primary research analyst for the USSOCOM CCFLIR Program and will oversee and perform analysis which involves designing, developing, and adapting mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods and techniques to analyze issues and provide advice with respect to the possible effects of alternative solutions.
Manage task lists and monitor program for USSOCOM CCFLIR team, Interface with Combatant-craft Program Office APM, provide technical and engineering assistance to USSOCOM CCFLIR and CCVAS program.
Coordinate schedules and timeline for projects, training, and tasking for combatant-craft program. Uses Lean Six Sigma or other scientific methods and techniques to recommend improvements to quality, processes, flow, and tasking.
Reviews SOWs, ODRs, specifications, plans, and procedures to prepare for design and program reviews to solve technical deficiencies. Drafts and maintains quality processes for the CCFLIR program such as ATPs and SOPs.
DEFENSE ACQUISITION WORKFORCE IMPROVEMENT ACT (DAWIA)
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires additional education, training and experience. Applicants should meet the DAWIA Certification requirements for the Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering Career Field and be certified at Level III at the time of application. POSITIVE EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: This position has a Positive Education Requirement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the basic education requirement, Applicants must have one or more years of progressively related experience. Specialized experience is 1) professional engineering or scientific experience designing, developing and testing electro-optic technology, 2) professional engineering or scientific experience testing and evaluating electro-optic technology to ensure performance specifications are met, 3) professional engineering or scientific experience implementing and producing strategies for engineering development and technology transition projects.
QUALITY RANKING FACTOR: This position has a Quality Ranking Factor (QRF). This is a quality ranking factor that could be expected to enhance significantly the performance of the applicant in the position. The actual QRF is experience developing test and test requirements to assess the performance and safety parameters of electro-optic systems . You do not have to possess the factor in order to be rated eligible; however, applicants possessing the factor will receive additional points.
