Our client, an exciting biotechnology company, seeks a highly-motivated scientist with a focus in process development and optimization. The individual will work closely with groups to develop robust mammalian cell culture processes that are scalable for manufacturing. The individual s primary responsibility will be the evaluation of the impact of process changes on mammalian cells and final product output. In addition, the candidate will work closely with teams to further develop new processes for the formation of tissues.
Develop and optimize processes for expansion and usage of mammalian cells: Robust large-scale growth processes including evaluation of large format culture-ware and bioreactor systems Cell cryopreservation techniques Technology transfer to core manufacturing group through document control and on-hand training Working in conjunction with Engineering for continued process improvement of core technology Develop processes for automation and closed manufacturing of final cell based products Shipping and storage of mammalian cell culture products such as tissues Participate in final package design In addition: Identification and / or development of in-process assays to characterize cells including, cell phenotype, secretome, metabolic, and molecular. Write protocols and reports to support process changes. Analyze data and present work both to internal and external customers. Prepare SOPs and Batch Records that enable transfer of validated protocols into project teams. Actively participate with teams to further optimize processes for generation of mammalian cell based tissues. Publish work in journals and present at national conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate must have a MS/PhD in Bioengineering, Biochemical Engineering or a related field. Must have 3+ years of practical experience in mammalian cell culture in a commercial setting. A BS degree in Bioengineering, Biochemical Engineering or a related field with practical experience of 10+ years Background in tissue engineering, mammalian based product development a plus.

Adjust rapidly to shifting priorities and variable workloads and is able to work flexibly to accommodate project deadlines.
