These are temporary positions for approximately six months, work schedule will be four 10 hour days, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM in all types of weather conditions.
Under general supervision, will perform natural resource management activities to ensure proper conservation, preservation and management of natural resources on Open Space property.
Work involves implementing natural resource management plans, which includes forest, fire mitigation, prescribed burns, noxious weeds, wildlife and vegetation management to ensure that the natural resources acquired by Jefferson County Open Space are preserved and enhanced.
High school graduation or equivalent certificate, must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment, physical demand requirements are for heavy work. Ability to read operating instructions and warning labels, strongly prefer applicants to have a rudimentary understanding of natural resources management.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of hand tools, chain saws and other light and heavy equipment.
Offer of employment contingent on criminal history and motor vehicle record check.
Must have a valid driver's license, if you are from out of state, you must have a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date, and you must not have any major violations, nor more than one DUI, DWI, DWAI conviction in the past three years.
