There are three temporary six-month positions beginning mid-April;work schedule will be 8-hour days, shifts to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Under general supervision, patrols parks to provide visitor safety and resource protection, education, interpretation and ensures compliance with park rules and regulations.
Work involves providing information and assistance to visitors through regulation enforcement, general public contact, emergency response, security and resource interpretation. Employee is responsible for general park maintenance and evaluating status of parks through foot, vehicular and mountain bike patrols.
High school diploma or equivalent certificate, prefer some college or additional training/education in parks/outdoor recreation, natural resources or related field, and experience in area of park ranger, law enforcement, emergency services or natural resources. Spanish/English bilingual a plus.
Offer of employment conditional on criminal history and MVR check.
Must have First Responder or equivalent certification within two months of hire date. Must be able to perform physical outdoor work, including rigorous hiking, both on and off trail as well as lifting/carrying equipment. OC/pepper spray, ASP/baton and S-130/190 basic wildland fire training is preferred at time of hire. Must have First Responder or equivalet certification within two months of hire date. Must be able to exert 100 lbs. of force to move objects. Applicant must be able to read and understand operating instructions and warning labels.
Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must have a valid driver's license, if you are from out of state, you must have a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date, and you must not have any major violations, nor more than one DUI, DWI, DWAI conviction in the past three years.
