Responsible for supporting and managing the Seasonal promotional planning process thru all aspects across merchandising and marketing. Develops an understanding of the marketplace and uses loyalty insights to help drive research-based actions throughout seasonal planning. Responsible for consulting with internal partners around the performance of all seasonal promotional vehicles. Contributes to the development of promotional presentation and strategy; collaborates with store operations, supply chain, merchandise planning, Marketing, suppliers and third party vendors to develop, execute and deliver the go forward promotional strategy of a seasonal timeframe, to deliver on sales, profit, and sell thru goals.
Ensures project prioritization in collaboration with the Manager of Seasonal Space and oversees the development and definition of seasonal promotional strategy.
Utilizes and integrates loyalty and customer insights into seasonal promotional plans and concepts. Partners with merchant, promotional planning and marketing to optimize seasonal promotions.
Manages problem resolution process ensuring issues and discrepancies related to new, enhanced or revised seasonal displays, signs or merchandising solutions are resolved.
Leads cross category customer solutions within seasonal space planning, while maintaining seasonal displays and aisle merchandising standards, to increase space productivity. Conducts analysis to ensure space optimization.
Communicates of seasonal promotional strategies to Marketing and Merchandising to Store Operations and other internal partners. Conducts CM level seasonal review and strategy meetings.
Consults with Merchants (CMs) regarding the development of off-shelf promotional vehicles; such as display and circular performance.
Achieves performance metrics including comparison with plan on (Sub) category same store sales, same store share, net margin, days of Supply, space productivity; increase/decrease in value per transaction, promotional effectiveness and seasonal sell-thru. Conducts seasonal analysis and applies to upcoming seasons.
Contributes to, participates and supports continuous improvement and technological advancement efforts; Mentors peers on seasonal and promotions team.
Basic Qualifications & Interests
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years experience in visual merchandising or conducting business analysis, marketing, merchandising, store operations and/or promotions OR Associates degree at least 5 years experience in visual merchandising or conducting business analysis, marketing, merchandising, store operations and/or promotions.
Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).
Advanced level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: changing picture styles, customizing animation and/or setting automatic slide timings).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
Experience implementing a marketing program or assisting in developing a promotional strategy.
Experience conducting analysis and making recommendations.
Experience developing and delivering presentations to mid-level audience levels within an organization.
Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
Experience collaborating with internal resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications & Interests
Experience with store displays and promotions to include store communications and working with Merchandising Managers and vendors to design and coordinate off-shelf displays.
Experience at a retailer or CPG.
At least 1 years’ experience with promotional space planning and visual merchandising.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mathematics, or analytical field.
Knowledge of Walgreens store systems.
Knowledge of Visual Basic, HTML, and/or SQL a plus
Basic level skill in Microsoft Access 2003 or later (for example: entering data, setting up tables, adding new records, working with forms, filtering data, running queries).
Knowledge of Walgreens store operations procedures and policies.
Knowledge of competitors operations and systems.
