Under the direction of the Recreation Superintendent, responsible for ensuring that teams and participants play within the parameters of the rules set forth by the City of Sterling Recreation Division.
Enforce the rules governing the City of Sterling Volleyball Program.
Coordinate pre-game meeting with coaches, and explain ground rules to coaches.
Recognize potential hazardous conditions, and notify Gym Supervisor.
Report all acts of misconduct to the Gym Supervisor.
Tactfully deal with upset participants.
Consistently interpret rules and policies, and apply the rules and policies fairly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with participants.
Ability to accurately interpret rules and policies pertaining to volleyball.
A working knowledge of the playing rules is expected of every official. Additional experience through participation in high school, college or city league volleyball is preferred.
