The Seat Design Engineer position is in Engineering Design (ED5) Department located at our Saline, MI campus . Toyota is about opportunity, built around you, where the cornerstones are innovation and continuous improvement.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Design and Develop Seat Components
  • Design and Develop Seat Belt Systems
  • Schedule for, make, design and issue parts drawings using CAD
  • Lead suppliers for component development, utilizing project management skills
  • Investigate and make countermeasures for field issues
  • Report weekly status to Department, Sr. Management, and Toyota Japan (TMC)
  • Benchmark competitors vehicles
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical engineering.
  • 5-8 Years' of experience in Seat Belt engineering and design
  • Understanding of Federal Regulations pertaining to Seats and Seat Belt
  • 5-8 Years' of experience working with CAD or other 3-D modeling software
  • General understanding and application of standard engineering theory, principles, and problem solving techniques.
  • Analytical problem solving abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with suppliers, design and TMC
  • Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally

About Us
Toyota Technical Center (TTC) is a division of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, North America Inc., established in 1977. TTC's Michigan R&D facilities are located in Ann Arbor, Saline, Plymouth and Livonia. In addition, TTC has testing facilities in Torrance and Gardena, California and a 10-mile oval test track in Wittmann, Arizona.

TTC is engaged in engineering design, prototype building, vehicle evaluation and engineering, materials engineering, powertrain tuning and design, safety/crashworthiness, regulatory affairs and advanced research.
