This is a full-time position with responsibilities on the Emmetsburg Campus. Primary responsibilities are to provide service planning and coordination with K-12 schools in the Iowa Lakes Community College five county areas. Assisting the Secondary Programs Director as needed. Some evening and weekend duties required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES - % OF TIME
Assist in the coordination with all activities associated with the Career Academy’s including:
a. Development and maintenance of three Career/Employment Educational Units per career academy program
b. Serve as Instructional Assistant as needed
c. Serve as liaison between instructors and districts involved with Career High School Academy
Assist in coordination with Eastern III Perkins Grant.
Develop retention model for Career Connect students to increase retention into full-time status.
Monitor and update all articulation agreements annually
Assist with compliance of NACEP Accreditation.
Develop marketing strategies and materials including newsletters, brochures, catalogues, web pages, and other misc. promotional pieces.
Work with Career Academy faculty to develop and maintain industry certifications where appropriate.
Maintain and update the Program of Study initiative with the k-12 school districts.
Maintain updated shared agreements with the k-12 school districts.
Work with area High Schools on collecting and inputting registrations
Coordinate and complete Asset Testing in the k-12 districts
Coordinate activities with appropriate College personnel.
Submit required reports.
Participate with assigned committees.
Coordinate campus visits for parents, prospective students and district administrators interested in the Career Connect.
Assist secondary faculty with course offerings and curriculum identification/modification.

Position as Secondary Program Coordinator involves sitting most of the time and driving to local districts. Constant (67-100%) reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions and viewing various types of close visual work. Frequent (34-66%) stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling and carrying. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds of force frequently. Required to utilize personal vehicle for some travel. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and provide proof of insurance. Will require flexible hours including weekend and evenings.
Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree with two years of demonstrated successful, relevant experience in areas, such as education, communications, business, program and resource development.
SALARY: $35,542 - 260 day contract
