The Indian Health Service (IHS) is the principal federal health care provider and health advocate for American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN). Serves as a Secretary (OA) for the Engineering department:
Prepares requisitions and receiving reports for the Facility Manager's approval.
Receives all visitors and telephone calls and routes to the appropriate staff member.
Makes necessary arrangements for travel, conferences, and official visits. Prepares the travel vouchers upon completion of the travel.
Maintains time and attendance for the Engineering department utilizing an automated system.
Types a variety of complex documents ensuring conformance with regulations and procedural instructions for supervisors signature. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Back to top

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks:

GS-05:
Planning and carrying out the work of the office; knowledge to coordinate procedures or operations applied to clerical assignments; working independently; locating and summarizing information from files and documents; and the use of automated computer systems.
4 years above high school
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
