Background: IAP World Services, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a part-time administrative clerk for the NOAA/NMFS Alaska Region Office in Juneau, AK. IAP World Services is the on-site technical services contractor and supports NOAA/NMFS by hiring and managing qualified individuals to support long and near-term research projects.
Position Description: One mission of NOAA/NMFS is implement the policy objectives of the north Pacific Fishery Management Council and applicable laws to promote the protection, conservation, and recovery of fish, crustaceans, marine mammals, and their habitat.
This individual will assist NOAA staff and researchers in the Sustainable Fisheries Division and Records Management Office by providing technical, coordinating and administrative support. Sample tasks include:
Open and distribute mail
Maintain SF reading files, prepare final correspondence and accurately maintain computer files for various logs and tracking systems.
Create and maintain Administrative Record files
Photocopy and index Freedom of information Act (FOIA) and litigation requests
Qualifications: The preferred candidate has a minimum of a high school diploma and a minimum of one year experience. Critical selection factors include the ability to use on online records management and tracking system, knowledge of basic computer software programs including word processing, spreadsheets, and data management; and the ability to govern the flow, control, and filing of documents. MS Office experience or Google Docs experience is a plus.
