HOURS: Full time – 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, M – F, Flex time available.


RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for a Security Compliance Consultant to be responsible for providing HIPAA security consulting services for new and existing clients, including HIPAA security assessment and risk analysis, compliance program and policy development, training, and advisory services for policyholders. The Security Compliance Consultant will be involved with developing consulting tools; and will provide project management, coordination, execution, and completion for consulting projects and other related activities. While this is a home office based (telecommuting) position, the candidate will ideally be based in the Twin Cities metro area; or in one of the following states: MN, WI, ND, SD, IA, NE, KS, MO, IN; or at minimum in the central time zone. Travel has potential for 10 to 25%, which is primarily in the Twin Cities area. The ability for overnight travel is required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, health information management, or equivalent preferred. Five or more years of related experience, including understanding of IT standards, concepts and techniques for the management of information technology, IT infrastructure, applications/software, operations, accepted measures, indicators, processes, and best practices. Three or more years of project management and consulting and compliance experience, including policy development and implementation. This position requires a high level of motivation and self-direction, with the ability to seek/take direction when needed and stay apprised of changes in healthcare’s regulatory environment. Excellent business writing skills and the ability to communicate with both technical and executive levels of an organization are required. Excellent presentation skills. Highly skilled with Microsoft Office suite. Collaboration, partnering, and change management skills. Working knowledge of
healthcare industry trends and regulatory environment and healthcare organizations including clinics, hospitals or long-term care, preferred. In depth knowledge of HIPAA Security Rule or other information security regulations. Other helpful experience - application and operating system hardening, vulnerability assessments, security audits, TCP/IP, intrusion detection systems, and/or firewalls. One of the following certifications preferred: CISSP, CISA, CHSS, CSF, CRISC, CPHIMS.
