The Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for working for the Cloud Information Assurance (IA) Lead and ensuring the overall security posture of the solution throughout the system development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:
Strong organizational, operational and process capabilities

Strong presentation skills for both oral and written representations

Provide subject matter expertise regarding security policy implementations and strategies

Develop mitigation courses of action for security vulnerabilities

Conduct security assessment and independent evaluation and validation (IV&V) of system components and subcomponents

Use compliance and vulnerability assessment tools to analyze products for configuration and patch vulnerabilities

Support rapid iterative development-test-development cycles

Assess system requirements to meet security control requirements

Assess system requirements to meet functional security requirements

Assess system requirements to meet operational security requirements

Configure and troubleshoot networking devices, various platforms, databases, and Linux and Windows systems

Experience working with remote access systems (SSLVPN appliances, network admission control/end point control services, token based authentication, integration with Active Directory and LDAP)

Proactively monitor and report on current Internet threats, as they relate to the customers' deployed product base

Demonstrate ability to quickly understand advanced concepts and new technology, consider available options, analyze trade-offs, and make appropriate decisions

Self-motivated individual with minimal required oversight that can work to accomplish large complex goals in a collaborative environment coordinating multiple groups of disparate opinions

Retain domain experience in cyber security issues, technologies, and the competitive landscape


4 years security engineer experience of complex information systems

Currently 8570 compliant training: relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, SANS, CISSP, etc.

Strong technical background conducting software development and/or systems engineering

Experience with cloud computing technologies

Hands-on experience of Unix/Linux engineering and administration

Hands-on experience with security vulnerability tools (Retina, WASSP, SECSCN, Nessus, Nmap)

Experience with shell scripting

Experience with automated security tools

Strong written and oral communication skills, must be comfortable briefing small (up to 30 person) audiences


Configuration Management (CM) experience (any discipline/model)

Risk Management (RM) experience (any discipline /model)

Experience with military (ideally U.S. Army) preferred

Knowledge of Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) preferred

Knowledge and/or experience with DCGS-A preferred
