Description/Job Summary Officer Job description
Main Purpose: Stay visible and present a professional image. Maintain the security of buildings and property, monitor access to the property, and respond to fire, theft, vandalism, or any other situation that may arise. Report all safety hazards to your supervisor immediately.
Have the ability to stay alert for long periods.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.
Hand writing must be legible.
Must be able to climb and descend step/stairwells.
Required to conduct patrols of the property and buildings in all elements of weather (patrols could take between forty five minutes and an hour).
Must be able to drive a gator (golf cart).
Required to make key rounds.
Must be able to sit/stand or walk for long periods at a time.
Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard.
Must maintain a neat and professional appearance.
Must have a basic understanding of a computer and be able to utilize Windows based programs.
Required to respond to emergency situations such as fire, theft, vandalism or any other emergency situation.
Must be able to carry up to 50lbs of emergency equipment.
Must be CPR, First Aid, qualified and be able to perform the functions of emergency response. (IE perform CPR/First Aid as a first on scene responder).
Must be able to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times, with the ability to provide quality customer service while handling typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively.
Other requirement s will be site specific and taught in the OJT portion of employment. All requirements must be maintained throughout your employment.
Minimum duties performed:
Patrol facility or man post as instructed and serve as a general security presence and visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions.
Detect and investigate suspicious activities and watch for criminal acts or client rule infractions which may be a threat to the property, client or employees.
Report all incidents, accidents or medical emergencies.
Respond to emergencies, such as medical and bomb threats; and to alarms such as fire and intrusion by following emergency response procedures.
Check ID Badges.
Monitor and record incoming and outgoing property.
Monitor visitor sign in/ out sheet.
Read post orders/pass down log daily and follow instructions therein.
Provide escorts when necessary.
Write post logs, incident reports and shift reports.
Provide extra coverage to parties, gathering, etc.
