Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Security Guard.

Primary Job Duties : Perform routine security activities to protect buildings and property and safeguard occupants and visitors; respond to calls for service; complete logs and reports; assist with traffic control, crowd control, and parking enforcement; respond to routine inquiries; and other duties as assigned. Position requires working an 8-hour rotating shift schedule to include holidays and weekends. In addition requires extended periods of standing and working during inclement weather.

Minimum Qualifications : High school diploma. One year previous security experience and CPR or first aid certification desired. Must possess a valid driver's license with 5 or less points for moving violations.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities : Strong problem solving, interpersonal, customer service, and oral & written communication skills; ability to exercise good judgment, handle and prioritize multiple tasks, interact professionally and courteously with all members of the campus community, handle sensitive matters with discretion and tact, and project a professional image; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

This is a full-time non-exempt State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Minimum starting salary is $10.41.
