The Senior Account Manager serves as the primary contact for the client and successfully manages specific client relationships, while overseeing the team’s daily activities and projects.

Key Responsibilities

Client relations

Work as part of an account team to develop and execute integrated communications strategies, including public relations, marketing and social media initiatives

Develop meaningful relationships with clients and be recognized as main point of contact

Identify client’s short- and long-term goals, translating strategic objectives into traditional and online public relations tactics, marketing programs, and social media campaigns

Identify key messages and audiences based on each client’s business priorities

Keep abreast of market trends and corresponding opportunities for clients

Draft client proposals; obtain approval prior to initiating work

Media relations

Build and maintain strong relationships with appropriate members of the media to facilitate advantageous placement of articles and releases

Write effectively for various media outlets as required

Team support

Manage team resources to meet client commitments

Meet multiple and concurrent deadlines, individually and for any team members

Manage budgets effectively

Facilitate and participate in meetings with design and digital teams to brainstorm and determine direction.

Ensure supervisors are kept fully informed regarding activities and plans for support staff and clients

Proofread and edit regular client reports and attend client meetings

Lead by example, and train and mentor junior staff

Work harmoniously with fellow employees

Identify and drive opportunities for new business

Attend networking events, seminars and conferences in order to maintain personal and professional development

Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum 5 years in PR/marketing

Agency experience preferred

B2B and healthcare experience highly preferred

Bachelor’s degree in public relations or journalism or related degree required

Solid understanding of media relations and social networking

Strong motivation and ability to take initiation with little direction

High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

Solid writing, editing and organizational skills
