· Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in accounting or other appropriate business related field or experience commensurate with the responsibilities, required.

· Three years of accounting and computer work experience, required.

· Ability to work on and understand the workings of a computerized accounting system and be very proficient in Microsoft Excel, required.

· Experience with Lawson software, preferred.

· Experience in the continuing care retirement industry and/or health care field, preferred.

The person must be tactful and possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal, English skills required) to effectively communicate with a variety of people and personalities including central office staff, campus and consulting personnel with varied levels of understanding of finance and accounting principles and functions. The individual must be courteous and relate well to others, project a friendly character, support customer service and team concepts. Considerable initiative, good judgment and planning skills are required. The individual must have the ability to plan and carry out multiple and varied responsibilities, take initiative on routine responsibilities, and organize own schedule and duties in order to complete responsibilities. The person must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to take direction from a variety of people. The ability to maintain confidentiality and good judgment is necessary.

It is essential that the individual is dependable, has good interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to deal well with others and able to work collaboratively and effectively. The individual must be able to handle a variety of complex tasks and responsibilities in a professional, prompt manner. The person must have excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail. The person must exhibit an empathy with and understanding of the needs and expectations of staff and residents in the Senior Living industry; and the ability to deal with the public in a pleasant and professional manner.
