We have an opportunity available for a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team based in Stamford, CT.
Responsible for generating quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements for Daymon Worldwide Inc. and Subsidiaries and the Company’s three defined contribution plans. This process involves producing accrual basis financial statements for the brokerage business, 401K and the Employee Stock Ownership Plans. Also responsible for the financial recordkeeping function of the various equity compensation plans (e.g. Executive Stock Purchase Plan and Officers’ Stock Bonus Plan) of Daymon in accordance with FAS 123R (accounting standard for equity compensation).
Duties, Responsibilities and Expected Contributions
Responsible for the preparation of the Company’s annual and quarterly consolidated financial statements, including all footnotes and relevant disclosures. These financial statements include the balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows.
Responsible for the preparation of the Company’s three defined contribution plan’s annual financial statements, including all footnotes and relevant disclosures.
Prepares audit work papers for consolidation, brokerage business and retirement plans.
Responsible for the Consolidation process (both domestic and international entities.)
Monitors intercompany transactions to facilitate intercompany reconciliation.
R eviews and updates the Company’s policies and procedures surrounding treasury and financial reporting to ensure compliance with Company controls and these controls are operating effectively.
Coordinates with HR and Payroll departments in maintaining, monitoring and reporting employee loans (e.g. ESPP, relocation.)
Responsible for Daymon’s equity administration which includes maintaining the stock certificate ledger and preparation of equity related journal entries pertaining to the Company’s stock compensation plans (equity compensation accounting.)
Prepares the Executive ownership statements to be posted in the Company Officer’s portal.
Prepares reports related to the executive stock programs, including vesting communications, transactions and payouts.
R eviews and approves all bank reconciliation statements prepared by accounting clerk.
Generates ADW bill backs and reports on ADW modified cash-basis numbers on a monthly basis.
Performs special ad hoc projects for CFO, Corporate Controller, Controller and Manager of External Reporting.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance
- 4-6+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience in a CPG environment (2+ years of Big 4 firm exp preferred,) CPA preferred but not required.
- Experience in consolidation accounting, accounting of equity compensation and foreign currency reporting a plus
- Excellent communication & organizational skills
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Some supervisory experience preferred
- Excellent user software capabilities, specifically Excel
- PeopleSoft/JD Edwards experience desired
