This new position is open due to Company’s growth. The Senior Accountant position reports to the Controller and will be an integral member of the Finance team.

Responsibilities

Have an active role in the Monthly, Half year and Annual General Ledger closings including preparing and entering journal entries and completing various G/L account reconciliations to ensure financial statements are complete, accurate and in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Interact with operational departments to obtain relevant financial data to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting.
Assist in preparation of monthly reporting package provided to senior management, Parent Company and external third parties.
Support the Controller in determining the accounting impact of specific business transactions
Identify process improvements in month-end close process.
Assist with updating the documentation supporting Company financial policies and procedures.
Assist in ad hoc projects, including the annual external audit, DCAA Audits, Tax Audits, Fixed Assets count / physical inventory support.
Support for ERP System Upgrade/Conversion.
Provide Guidance and instruction to the junior members of the finance team on accounting processes and principals.

Job Requirements

Experience and Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 4-6 years accounting experience
Knowledge and understanding of GAAP or International Financial Reporting Standards
Demonstrated understanding of financial statements: Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Funds Flow.
Can set up and operate accounting modules in an ERP system and other key accounting support systems including payroll and fixed assets.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal, written communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the company
Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment
Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through
Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Office programs
CPA a plus
