Location of Position: Camp Lejeune, North Carolina
Title of Position: Senior Accountant
Assists in the establishment and directs the implementation of accounting policies and procedures. This is an ongoing review and modification process.
Helps direct and supervise the accounting function.
Participates in the completion and issuance of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements/reports.
Assists in the reporting of results of operations to ownership and management.
Oversees and coordinates internal audits on a regular basis, as required by the housing office, but in no case less than once annually.
Assists, as needed, in the annual budget process.
Oversees duties associated with the accounting function including posting of electronic rental payments.
Works and cooperates with the Asset Management, Property Management, Maintenance Department, Development, Design & Construction, the Housing Office, the client, and Accounting Departments within the Property Management organization as required.
Weekly review, reconciliation and posting of inventory script. Communicate posting errors to Maintenance Department; provide training in this area as needed.
Account reconciliations – reviews and provides adjustments as needed.
Prepares journal entries.
Prepares Qualified Income calculations.
Assists with calculation of monthly waterfall when necessary.
Reviews accounts payable batches for accuracy and approves for posting to the general ledger.
Assists with quarterly inventory process.
Prepares weekly check selections.
Ensures on a monthly basis that all fixed assets are inputted into the FAS System and that all reports tie to Yardi.
Prepares all draw requests for CRR, Utilities, Impositions, Incentives, Restricted Funds, and Construction funds.
Performs special projects as needed or as requested by the Financial Controller.
On smaller projects the Senior Accountant may also be required to complete additional responsibilities as listed in the job description of Staff Accountant.
Identifies tasks that need to be performed and takes appropriate action. Self-directed with minimum supervision.
Qualifications and/or Experience:

Accounting/Finance Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
Five years hands-on and progressively-responsible related experience
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of financial software applications, database, spreadsheets and word
processing required. Proficiency in Excel is required.
Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Acceptable background check.
Must pass the pre – employment drug test.
Schedule : Schedule hours Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. with evening scheduled hours occurring. Position may include overtime if necessary.
