Altria Group Distribution Company’s role is to provide sales, distribution and consumer engagement services for Altria’s tobacco operating companies. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Administrative Assistant to join our Customer and Marketing Services department in Richmond, VA.

The successful candidate will provide administrative/secretarial support to the Vice President of Customer and Marketing Services and will provide centralized support to his staff. Specific accountabilities include:

  • Coordinating department and senior management meetings, including coordination with significant external contacts.
  • Conducting non-routine to complex projects and related assignments with exposure to high level sensitive and confidential information with material impact to the organization.
  • Organizing and preparing complex documents including correspondence, reports and presentations.
  • Scheduling appointments and controlling the VP’s calendar. Actively participating in decisions affecting the VP’s and/or department's schedules and priorities.
  • Scheduling group meetings, off-site events and travel reservations.
  • Receiving and screening telephone calls, letters, and/or visitors. Reading and prioritizing mail, highlighting actions and routinely authoring responses.
  • Organizing and expediting the flow of work through the VP’s office and initiating follow-up action.

    Specific Skills
    Qualifications include:

  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience with coursework or specialized training related to position including certifications.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • The ability to interact and maintain relationships with all levels within and outside of the company. Interaction involves regular communication requiring interpretation, persuasion and discretionary skills. Requires daily contact with senior management and all levels of management and employees, routinely dealing with confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, make decisions in management's absence and t0 handle non-routine problems with minimal guidance.
  • Advanced computer and MS Office skills.
  • Understanding, influencing and/or serving people are important skills in completing responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of organization structure, policies and practices.
  • The following administrative tests are required for this position: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Outlook, Administrative Support Skill and Proofreading.
