Sony Pictures Imageworks is the Academy Award winning visual effects and animation unit of Sony Pictures Digital Production known for live-action visual effects and character animation, all-CG animation, and stereoscopic 3D imagery.
The company, which is celebrating its 20
anniversary this year, is currently in production on CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2 (3D) AND THE SMURFS 2 (3D) just to name a few of our cool and exciting projects.
We are looking for a People & Organization (P&O) Sr. Representative, HR Business Partner to join the Imageworks P&O team.
Reporting into the Executive Director, the position will function as an HR generalist and support the day-to-day operations of Sony Pictures Imageworks.
He/she will be an integral contributor in defining and implementing HR strategy that aligns and integrates with the business strategy of Imageworks.
Initiate and drive the design and implementation of new or revised HR policies, processes, and programs in order to enhance the business unit’s workforce performance along with the employee’s workplace experience.
Facilitate and track global immigration cases; partner with Corporate Global Mobility and clients (i.e. management, employees and external candidates) to ensure a smooth process for all parties.
Proactively anticipate any potential roadblocks and resolve in a timely manner.
Act as first point of contact with clients and help answer questions related to immigration.
Analyze and provide counsel to managers on performance appraisal and other performance management tools relative to meaningful developmental content, tone, objectivity, legality and consistency with proposed salary recommendations
Advise management on staffing issues/needs/hiring decisions.
With minimal supervision, investigate and resolve employee relations issues.
Leverage the resources from the specialty areas (e.g., Learning & Organization Development, Recruiting, Compensation, etc.) as well as the overall Business Partner team.
Build and maintain long-term trusted client relationships with the business unit’s executives and their teams
We are looking for someone who has:
Minimum of 3 years of human resources generalist experience in progressively responsible roles
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience and exposure to a variety of HR facets including recruitment, employee relations, learning & development, and/or compensation
Strong team player and ability to function in a fast-paced production based environment
Basic knowledge and application of federal and state employment laws
Project management experience
Advanced computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and production individuals
Strong organizational, motivational, communication and problem solving skills
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data, identify trends and recommend multiple solutions
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to multitask and juggle multiple deadlines/projects seamlessly
