The Senior Analyst position supports and improves the effectiveness of marketing efforts by developing analytical solutions through the use of customer and prospect behavioral and demographic data. Develops statistical models and conducts analysis for targeted marketing efforts. Works in a cross-functional team environment, and may direct other statistical analysts, database marketing specialists, data processing and client analytical staff in accomplishment of tasks.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Design and produce standard and ad hoc client reports and deliverables, such as profile analyses, RFM analysis, and cross-tabulation reports.
Conduct segmentation and statistical modeling for database marketing efforts, using CHAID, cluster analysis, and modeling techniques such as Logistic and Linear regression.
Perform ad-hoc queries and analysis in support of marketing and business objectives.
Assist with the preparation of client and marketing deliverables.
Perform primary research and assistance with prospect, client, and competitive information.
Perform exploratory data analysis and basic data manipulation to audit and assess data quality.
Work with Allant project managers in developing estimates of analytical resource requirements, timelines and deliverable schedules.
Identify potential enhancements and/or process improvements for internal product and service offerings.
Proactively contributes ideas for new projects, streamlining existing processes, and enhancing Allant’s current analytic methodology.
Data Preparation: Collect and structure data according to the analytic project plan requirements with moderate supervision. Execute a data assessment to identify data anomalies within the data. Understand the structure of the data as it relates to the analytical solution.
Data Analysis: Experience with data processing, manipulation, and ad-hoc query activities. Accurately executes the analytical methodology for model development and/or analysis with moderate supervision.
Presentation: Create client deliverables from template presentations with moderate supervision.
Business Effectiveness: Utilizes time management techniques, effective verbal and written communication skills, and effective use of MS Office products.
Database Marketing: Has a cursory understanding of the database marketing function and role which analytics plays within it.
Digital/Online: Familiarity with the application of analytic methods in the digital and online channels.
Knowledge Development: Identify areas of further research within the course of projects or through self-guided research. Share results of work/research with the department.
Working knowledge of statistics, including Linear/Logistic regression and CHAID, and data mining techniques. Demonstrated knowledge of SAS and/or SPSS.
Critical thinking – capable of generating consistently accurate, useful reports as well as enthusiasm for translating data into actionable insight relevant to marketing program activities.
Strong quantitative and research skills and proven ability to demonstrate data interpretation capabilities in terms of reporting and dashboards.
Balance desire for quantitative rigor with the realities of inconsistent business data.
Attention to detail and time management to deliver high quality, client-ready work for multiple projects across several client engagements while meeting deadlines.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, Statistics, Economics/Econometrics or other quantitative discipline.
3 - 5 years of work-related experience in statistical modeling or analysis.
