The Senior Application Support Analyst is responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, bug fixes, minor enhancements and maintaining retail merchandising, financials, corporate apps, sales audit, Inventory planning and allocation, pricing and promotions, reporting and other associated applications on database platforms including Oracle, MS SQL Server, and Unix. Support various business applications related to Retail and various technical infrastructure components (applications servers, database programs, Unix scripting, PL/SQL, SQL server etc.). Work with various software vendors to find solutions to different production problems. Identify and apply required patches to resolve bugs. Work as a resource in all phases of the development and implementation process, assist with documentation, and support implementation efforts. The Application Support Analyst will manage incoming requests, log them as tickets and escalate to management where appropriate. The Senior Application Support Analyst will be responsible for providing 24/7 rotating support for production systems.
Job Requirements :
The ideal candidate will have a BS in Computer Science or equivalent plus a minimum 6+ years of related IT industry experience, in roles such as Applications Developer, Systems Analyst/Developer, Programmer Analyst, QA Engineer, or Software Engineer. The candidate must have strong knowledge of industry standard IT best practices such as change control, version control, and the system development life cycle. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical support experience in retail merchandising and/or corporate Retail Systems. Must have experience in one or more of the following -Retek Oracle apps – RMS/RDM, Oracle Financials, Epicor Sales Audit, Business objects reporting, Middleware (specifically RIB, seebeyond). The candidate must have experience with database platforms such as Oracle and MS SQL Server and UNIX. S/he must have a very good working knowledge on SQL, PL/SQL, Unix scripting and Pro C. Experience in a variety of platforms including Linux and Windows withopen source components is highly desirable. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Experience in the following areas is a huge plus: Merchandising, Pricing, Inventory Control, Planning, Allocation, Financials and reporting. Knowledge of Retek RMS, Retek RBM, Epicor Sales Audit is a huge plus.
