The Senior Application Support Technician will provide technical support for applications and systems maintained by the BioMarin Enterprise Architecture group. The candidate must be very customer focused and potentially provide limited functional support depending on the application. S/he will be responsible for administering and maintaining systems, assisting users, and managing escalated helpdesk tickets. The Technician will work with and support internal Solutions Architects, the BioMarin Infrastructure group, and vendors in order to facilitate improvements and repairs.


• Provide excellent customer service for those applications being supported
• Perform system administration on multiple applications
• Provide 2nd or 3rd level technical assistance to end users as a component of managing escalated helpdesk requests
• Troubleshoot system outages and other issues impacting production
• Create documentation and deliver informal training to help desk or end users
• Work with business units to identify and resolve issues impacting business processes
• Assist with rollout of new systems
• Work with vendors to identify and resolve problems
• Work with partners to troubleshoot access or other problems
• Other related duties as assigned


BS in MIS, Computer Sciences, or equivalent education and work experience


Minimum 3 years experience working with systems and applications in a corporate environment
Experience with Windows Server operating system
Experience with Content Management platforms a plus (e.g. Livelink or SharePoint)
Experience with PleaseReview, network load balancing (Microsoft, Cisco, or F5), TrackWise,, Microsoft Unified Access Gateway is a plus
Knowledge of biotechnology processes and systems is a plus
